5 Strings Banjo DBGDG Tuning
Our new RED SERIES banjo sets introduce strings for the first time ever to the world of strings made according to a revolutionary principle never adopted before: instead of changing the diameters of the strings that make up the set, their specific weight is changed while keeping the diameter.
As is known, to reach the lowest frequencies it is necessary to increase the diameter of the string. But with the increase in diameter there is also a harmful increase in its internal damping: the string is therefore less bright and ready to touch, in other words ‘muffled’. Everyone is aware of the great difference in sound quality between the first and third string of the guitar. With our revolutionary principle, instead of acting on the diameter, we act on the specific weight of the rope increasing it progressively.
The result is astonishing: the instrument not only sounds incredibly bright, powerful and ready in its entire range even over the top but is also more in tune on the frets (it is known that the thicker strings pressed on the frets increase more in frequency). Until now this result was only achievable with the Harp, where the vibrating length of the strings is continuously varied in order to keep the acoustic performance of the larger strings high.
The RED SERIES sets are suitable for lovers of clear and sharp, powerful, biting and aggressive sounds on the entire scale of the instrument.
Why are there different shades of red?
In the Red Series manufacturing process we use different percentages of metal powder to optimize the performance of each string within the set. Because of this, the color varies slightly from time to time. This is not a production problem. This is how each string produces the sound you expect!
Attention:
Red Series strings need to be finger stretched in a gentle way. Not too much. Tuning settles in 2-3 days.
